About Us
Hello! I’m Toni Holland, and I run The Curiosity Lab (formerly Little
Sparks Science) where I lead fun, hands-on science and nature classes for children aged 3–16 years. My goal is to spark curiosity, encourage questioning and inspire children to explore the world around them, from the stars in the night sky to the plants that grow all around.
Every class we run is developed by myself and are designed to be is full of practical activities to help develop those important experimental skills, as well as ideas to continue the learning at home.
My background is in physics; I hold a physics degree and spent over
seven years teaching GCSE science and A-level physics before stepping out of the classroom to start something more creative and child-led. I now have two young children who happily test all of our experiments and sometimes join me in classes too! When I’m not teaching or developing new activities, you’ll usually find me out exploring around Durham and the North East.
