Home Education classes
We work with Durham Home Ed Community Hub to deliver a range of science and nature classes for home educated children from the ages of 3-16 years. These classes are kept deliberately small and are a low pressure environment. Parents are welcome to attend with their children or wait outside depending on the child's need.

Nature Club (3-7 years)
Monthly classes creating a welcoming space for children can explore the natural world through hands-on discovery. Each class starts with a group story before children can explore the different themed stations, both outdoors and indoors, through play. These classes follow the Exploring Nature with Children curriculum cycle.

Primary Science (4-11 years)
Monthly classes that are split into 4-6 years, 6-8 years and 9-11 years. Each class has a theme and children get to join in with hands-on experiments based on that theme while practicing and developing their investigative skills. The two younger classes are currently working towards their CREST Star and SuperStar Awards.

Nature Explorers (7-12 years)
Monthly classes that allow children to learn more about nature and the world around them. These classes consist of time to get outside to practice observation and nature journaling skills before learning more about that month's theme and the ways we can help nature. These classes follow the Exploring Nature with Children curriculum cycle.

KS3 Science (11-14 years)
Weekly classes running separately for physics, biology and chemistry. These classes loosely follow the KS3 National Curriculum and are based around hands-on learning and discussion, given children the opportunity to develop their experimental skills while learning.
